The Story Behind This Image
The Teddy Gets a Window Seat
She hugged him this morning — properly, the way you hug something that guarded your entire childhood. Twenty-two years old and crying into synthetic fur while her mother pretended not to watch from the doorway. Then she zipped him into her bag, one ear poking out for air, and came to the platform early to sit with the enormity of it.
The old letters are spread around her like a paper audience: birthday cards from a grandmother, a best friend's looping promises to “never change”. She reads none of them. She just needed witnesses. Moving away is a strange grief — mourning a life that hasn't ended, only relocated.
Electric Goodbyes
The platform is empty, the night is cold, and her chest is doing that live-wire thing where terror and thrill share one circuit. The teddy's ear twitches in the bag as a train sighs past without stopping. She wipes her cheek and laughs at herself — crying on a platform floor at midnight, surrounded by paper ghosts, about to become someone new.
