The Story Behind This Image
Half in Shadow
She stands in the doorway, half swallowed by shadow, half caught in the blue-grey light of a fogged city evening. Her white dress lifts and twists in the wind; her long hair streams sideways. On the terrace behind her, clothes lines sag with damp laundry and pigeons huddle against the rain-diffused glow of distant windows.
The Cliff She Didn't Climb
She had planned to go to the seaside cliff today — to stand at the edge and let the wind do the shouting for her. But the fog rolled in, thick as a held breath, and she stayed home instead. Some days the bravest thing is admitting you don't have the walk in you. She leans against the doorframe and watches the city blur itself out, building by building.
Fragile Is Not the Same as Weak
Glass is fragile too, and it still holds the storm out. She stands there — slender, wind-bent, eyes bright with unshed rain — and lets the evening have its way with her hair, her dress, her plans. The pigeons shuffle closer. Somewhere below, the city glows through the fog like a promise kept at a distance. She'll go to the cliff tomorrow. Or the day after. Fragile things survive by choosing their moment.
